Fire Scene Examinations

We Offer Three Options for Scene and Field Examinations:

  • Scene investigation participation (in person)
    • Lead or co-lead examination
    • Determine evidence to be collected, plan and participate in the collection
    • Execute recovery plan, recommend and evaluate deviations from the plan, coordinate with other investigators
    • Recommended for large or complex losses
  • Scene investigation participation (live/virtual)
    • Pre-planning meeting with the on-scene investigator (investigator must have scene photos.)
    • Save the cost of travel and time spent traveling
    • Forensic expert participation in the entire examination
      • Plans/deviation from plans during the exam
      • Determining which evidence to recover
      • Evidence recovery planning
      • Hypothesis formation/testing
    • An origin and cause investigator, evidence technician, or other personnel at the scene will have your expert in the palm of his hands on a smartphone or pad device.
    • If required, we can provide and deliver test equipment for use by the Fire Investigator during the exam and then guide the investigator in the setup and use of the equipment during the exam.
  • Scene investigation participation – On Call
    • Pre-planning meeting with the on-scene investigator (investigator must have scene photos.)
    • Your expert is on call to assist your on-scene investigator
    • Your expert can participate in examination activities determined before the exam (for example, participation in testing an electrical system on scene and decisions about evidence collection.)
    • If required, we can provide and deliver test equipment for use by the Fire Investigator during the exam and then guide the investigator in the setup and use of the equipment during the exam.
